Appearance:
Bonepaw is pretty average sized, though he is tipping toward the smaller ends of the gene pool. However, he is young and fit. Already, he is pretty well-muscled for his age, even if it isn't all that noticeable. Sleek, wiry, and with a sturdy frame, he is well-rounded in battle, and doesn't have to particularly rely on any one thing. His fur is soft and well-kept, pure white, like clouds on a clear day. However, his tail is tipped with a medium gray, like granite. The same goes for the tops of his ears. Also, Bonepaw's eyes are an interesting shade of green. Parts of it are so light that it looks almost white. The green hue is tinted with the slightest signs of yellow.Personality:
Ambitious--History:
The bottom line is that he is always aiming to be better than any other cat. A better fighter, hunter, tracker, strategist, and maybe even leader. Bonepaw sets very high goals for himself, and can seem even a bit power-hungry, for he is also hoping to become leader. Lets just hope he doesn't turn out like Tigerstar.
Confident--
He takes pride in his abilities, and is quite confident about what he is capable of. Sure of himself, he isn't one to suffer many doubts. On the other hand, he doesn't let it get to his head either, and can even be quite humble, especially with his seniors or those who are just more skilled and experienced. Around those that he believes are weaker than him, he never rubs it in or acts rude and arrogant. After all, being a good warrior also means being a good mentor.
Challenge-seeking--
Bonepaw is constantly looking for things to challenge himself and to test himself. His motto, "There are no shortcuts to being the best; only practice", is just one piece of evidence. Not much of a slacker, he has always been a go-getter because of this. He would take on the hardest of feats, and would do his best to achieve it. The easy way out is always his last choice.
Alert--
Bonepaw never lets his guard down. Never. He is weary of strangers, whether they be kittypets, loners, rogues, rival clans, allied clans, and even kits. He often challenges cats he sees who he thinks are intruding or being too nosy, so he may come across as a bit aggressive. When sleeping, Bonepaw wakes up on the smallest of sounds. In conversations, he is careful to never give too much information, so secrecy is another one of his traits.
Persevering--
Once he's set his sights on something, you can bet that he will give his all. In everything he does, he doesn't give up until he's gone through with it. He'll never give up his ambition to become the best. More than likely Bonepaw will do whatever is necessary to get what it is he is aiming for.
Battle-hungry--
While he is normally even-tempered, he is always rather eager for a fight. He won't hesitate in fighting back, and will often be the one to start the fight.
Bonekit was born in an average litter of three kits. His parents, Icepelt and Slateclaw, were both talented warriors, with plenty of experience and respect from other cats, even from other Clans. Now, Bonekit had always been smaller than his two siblings, Rosekit, his sister, and Maplekit, his brother. Slateclaw had been deputy at the time, and while he was as loving and protective as most fathers are, he also had great expectations for his kits. And why not? Both parents were good and loyal Clan members. Sadly, he never had as much time for Bonekit as the other two. Being bigger than he, Slateclaw had thought that Rosekit and Maplekit would have more potential. Luckily, Icepelt treated the three equally, and it wasn't like his father completely ignored Bonekit.RP Example: Other:
Most of Slateclaw's free time was spent with the kits, telling them about battles he'd been in, how patrols went, and even what happened at Gatherings. In fact, Slateclaw once in awhile would even tell them things that were usually kept between leader, deputy, and some senior warriors--only if they swore to never tell anyone though, which they all did. But other than that, Slateclaw would often give the three mini-lessons about everything warriors needed to know. It was during these especially that it was more obvious he was more focused on Rosekit and Maplekit doing everything correctly. All the same, Bonekit seemed to have a particular knack at them all, constantly trying to show his dad that he was just as good as his littermates, if not better, which contributed even more to his ambitious and persevering personality.
One day, Maplekit, who had always been the biggest of the litter, became a bit more rambunctious and arrogant--having the deputy for their father, being the biggest, and having such expectations must have done it--than usual. Maplekit, who thought they were skilled enough now to be apprentices even though they were only 5-moons old, decided that they should sneak out of camp and fight something off to prove they were good enough to be apprentices already. Seeing this as a worthy test of his own skills, Bonekit readily agreed, and eventually they convinced cautious Rosekit to go as well. Slateclaw, having once encountered a badger during a patrol, had warned his kits to always keep alert for a badger's scent, so the three knew very well there was a badger when they all smelled it in the air. With Maplekit leading the way, the kits went straight toward the badger, and eventually met it. A dumb mistake.
Even with the drilling from their father, they were mere kits, and were not at all prepared for the giant striped beast. They were nearly killed. In fact, Maplekit did die at the paws of the badger. Stunned at the sudden loss of their brother, Rosekit had been frozen with shock and horror, and would've been killed as well had Bonekit not returned to his senses and tackled her out of the way. It was then that Icepelt found them, cornered by the badger, and Maplekit's body limp and bloodied on the ground. In a fit of adrenaline, she singly managed to drive it away, but not before being mortally wounded. Icepelt somehow managed to bring the three kits--including Maplekit's corpse--back to camp before dying. At first Slateclaw had been angry, but grief and relief calmed his fury. After Rosekit said how Bonekit had saved her, Slateclaw realized that he had been wrong to focus mainly on just two. Ever since then, he drilled the two surviving kits harder than ever.
A few moons later, they became apprentices finally. On their first border patrol, an adder bit Rosepaw, which led her to dying. Now driven by loss and determination, Slateclaw still pushed Bonepaw harder than even his own mentor did in order to make up for the deaths of Icepelt, Maplekit, and Rosekit. Bonepaw took on this load willingly, knowing that he too should give his best for the sake of them all. That leafbare, however, Slateclaw fell victim to one of the worst cases of greencough, and died, leaving Bonepaw alone
