Most believe dawn is a promise... Of a new day, a new experience, the expulsion of fear. Dawn is a promise, and a beautiful one at that.
For Dawn's Pride, the daughter of a Clan and Tribe cat, life could not be more complicated. Literally, she posessed a paw in both worlds. For the duration of her life, the beautiful cat was rejected by both worlds. She who could have been happy, was miserable. The beauty, like the light of dawn, withered. After many long, painful seasons, Dawn's Pride died. She was not missed, as from her birth, she was resented. She resented all, as well. This cat was bitter until the end.
After death, Dawn's Pride was rejected by StarClan; they could not accept such a cat full of darkness. Unfortunately, the Dark Forest denied her access as well, for the potential light in her made the forest wither. Trapped, as she was in life, Dawn's Pride had nowhere to go. After countless seasons in agony, her spirit faded into a malicious shade, intent on relieving her burden of misery, and making the cats who had treated her so suffer.
The vengeance of Dawn's Pride is ill-timed; the Clans are happy, and the Tribe has moved on. But this cat, with the sinister powers if the shade will make the lives of the Clan change forever.
A leader's secret revealed. The end of the dawn.
